A rapid temperature change or an increase in temperature above 54 ° C is sufficient for the smoke detector to understand that there is a threat and inform the people in the house. This smoke sensor provides VERY high efficiency, regardless of the material that can be burned.
Fibaro has done everything possible in the design of its smoke detector, anticipating all possible scenarios, making it compatible with alarm systems and offering communication with or without cable. The sensor can be installed as needed, regardless of whether a power supply can be connected, whether the walls allow wireless communication, or what type of wired alarm system is used. The sensor can be connected to a power supply of 12 VDC or 24. Or leave it in battery mode and with up to 3 years of continuous operation (depending on the parameterization).
The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted depending on where it is installed. In the kitchen, a very sensitive sensor could activate the alarm, for example when frying a food, so it should be less sensitive, helping to prevent false alarms. In other rooms, where the presence of smoke is less likely, under normal conditions, the sensor must be set to the maximum sensitivity to provide the best protection.
A "black box" integrated in the smoke detector records the information on smoke and temperature levels. The alarm system is armed or disarmed. The sensor monitors the smoke level and sends the information to the main controller periodically. Now you can detect the smallest amount of smoke.
For your safety, and to ensure that the smoke detector works properly, it has been equipped with functionality to test the coverage of the Z-Wave network. Z-Wave wireless mesh network communication keeps you connected to the controller even over long distance and through indirect connectivity with other Z-Wave modules. The integrated LED allows you to easily check if the sensor has good coverage and if it can communicate with the Control Unit or if it requires a different location.
A Z-Wave Control Unit (dongle or gateway) is required to integrate this module into the Z-Wave network, if you do not already have an existing Z-Wave network.
