According to the new European standard CE EN 14 604, with smooth and careful lines, with a polished touch surface and small size, this smoke detector will warn you of a threat with multicolored LEDs and with an integrated siren. Detects the minimum amount of smoke to offer a quick response. It is very easy to install in your home, business or office to protect goods and people.

As some materials burn without releasing smoke, Fibaro's engineers have decided to include additional protection in their smoke detector in the form of a temperature sensor. If the amount of smoke was not enough to activate the alarm, the device will be able to detect a threat by detecting the sudden increase in temperature caused by the fire. A rapid temperature change or an increase in temperature above 54 ° C is sufficient for the smoke detector to understand that there is a threat and inform the people in the house. This smoke sensor provides VERY high efficiency, regardless of the material that can be burned.

Fibaro has done everything possible in the design of its smoke detector, anticipating all possible scenarios, making it compatible with alarm systems and offering communication with or without cable. The sensor can be installed as needed, regardless of whether a power supply can be connected, whether the walls allow wireless communication, or what type of wired alarm system is used. Fibaro has thought of all the options to meet their needs.

The sensor can be connected to a power supply of 12 VDC or 24. Or leave it in battery mode and with up to 3 years of continuous operation (depending on the parameterization).

The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted depending on where it is installed. In the kitchen, a very sensitive sensor could activate the alarm, for example when frying a food, so it should be less sensitive, helping to prevent false alarms. In other rooms, where the presence of smoke is less likely, under normal conditions, the sensor must be set to the maximum sensitivity to provide the best protection.

A "black box" integrated in the smoke detector records the information on smoke and temperature levels. The alarm system is armed or disarmed. The sensor monitors the smoke level and sends the information to the main controller periodically. Now you can detect the smallest amount of smoke.

For your safety, and to ensure that the smoke detector works properly, it has been equipped with functionality to test the coverage of the Z-Wave network. Z-Wave wireless mesh network communication keeps you connected to the controller even over long distance and through indirect connectivity with other Z-Wave modules. The integrated LED allows you to easily check if the sensor has good coverage and if it can communicate with the Control Unit or if it requires a different location.

A Z-Wave Control Unit (dongle or gateway) is required to integrate this module into the Z-Wave network, if you do not already have an existing Z-Wave network.

Description:The FIBARO Smoke Sensor is a universal, ultra-light, perfectly designed, optical Z-Wave smoke detector. Inclusion
1) Install the battery. Visual indicator will signal the Z-Wave network adding status (green - device added, red - device not added).

2) Make sure the device is located within direct range of the Z-Wave controller.

3) Set the main controller in add mode (see main controller’s operating manual).

4) Quickly, triple click the B-button, located on FIBARO Smoke Sensor enclosure.

5) FIBARO Smoke Sensor will be detected and added to the Z-Wave network.

Exclusion
1) Make sure there is a battery installed.

2) Set the main controller in remove mode (see main controller’s operating manual).

3) Quickly, triple click the B-button, located on FIBARO Smoke Sensor enclosure.

Factory Reset
Please use this procedure only in the event that the system primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable.

FIBARO Smoke Sensor reset procedure:

1) Make sure the device is powered.

2) Press and hold the B-button for 3 seconds. Visual indicator will glow white.

3) You will hear a short signal.

4) Release the B-button.

Device Wake-Up
The Smoke Sensor will wake up at defined time interval and will ALWAYS try to communicate with the main controller. There is a possibility to wake the device up manually by triple-clicking the B-button.

Enter the number of batteries of the designated type that the product uses.
Battery Type
Enter the type (e.g. AA, CR2032, AAA) of the battery/batteries that the product uses.
